Big Broadcast Success

The 2017 New Year’s Eve Big Broadcast rounded off 2017 and saw in 2018 across 40 hospital radio stations in the UK. Two PBHR Members, Richard Smith and Ruth Stapleton were joined by Jonathan Sawyer, Ian Gornall, Matthew Rolland and Oliver Stables to produce a 24 hour live marathon broadcast which entertained throughout.

The programme was action packed and included the BIG Broadcast Pantomime (Aladdin), requests, the musical wheel of misfortune and live music from 19 year old singer Jess McGlinchey.

Richard Smith who presents the popular the A to Z of pop series once again hosted the broadcast from the purpose built studio in his home in Lancashire.

PBHR chairman Craig Robinson commended the team for another successful marathon broadcast which entertained patients across the country whilst in hospital, especially at this time of year.
